About Tom and Susan Gaddis

Tom and Susan have served as pastors of the Atascadero Foursquare Church in California for over 29 years. What began as a small group of 13 people has grown into a large community of believers who view themselves as “family.” Over the years many deep friendships have formed as the congregation has processed their Christian life together. Tom and Susan firmly believe it is in long term relationships that true Christianity is put to the test.

“We consider our role as parents our most important responsibility – often hard, but so rewarding! We have six children ranging in age from 12 to 29 years old. Our oldest son, David, is newly married to a wonderful woman named Sharla. They live in a nearby community where David works for Edward Jones. He often stops by our house to maintain his alpha wolf superiority over his three younger brothers still living at home. Mary and her husband, Peter, are the parents of our two granddaughters who keep us young at heart and laughing. Our daughter Katie attends a local college and lives at home along with her brothers, Jonathan, Daniel and James. All of the kids have been homeschooled until recently when the youngest boys began attending a small, private school.”

About Tom
Tom’s duties as Senior Pastor keep him busy, but he finds time for working with other community pastors. His heart for church unity and prayer have motivated him to labor with likeminded pastors on the Central Coast of California. Starbucks has become his second office as he regularly meets with city leaders and Atascadero pastors. Together they have planned citywide prayer meetings, pulpit exchanges and an annual pastor’s retreat. Tom is known for his humor, wisdom and gift of teaching.

Tom is recognized as a gifted retreat and seminar speaker who often teaches on leadership principles, relationships, intimacy with the Lord, spiritual growth and the power of the Holy Spirit. His ability to combine a depth of scripture knowledge with memorable illustrations and practical application makes his messages exceptional. Tom has written for the Foursquare Advance magazine and various newsletters. He is currently writing courses for the Atascadero Foursquare Church Ministry Training Center. About Susan
As Associate Pastor, Susan ministers in teaching, counseling and writing material for the church Ministry Training Center of which she is the director. Her ministry of intercession involves leading a citywide intercession group connecting many of Atascadero’s churches. She often works with other communities in setting up multi-church intercession groups and spiritual mapping teams. A popular conference and retreat speaker, Susan enjoys teaching on intercession, relationships, deliverance, leadership, contemplative prayer and parenting. In her spare time she enjoys gardening.

As a freelance writer and speaker, Susan has enjoyed many avenues for her work. She is the author of the book Intercessors, God’s End-time Vanguard which is published by Pathway Press. This book gives practical and scriptural instruction on intercession. Her latest book is titled, Help! I'm Stuck With These People For the Rest Of Eternity and is published by Arrow Publishing. The Foursquare Advance magazine and Teaching Home magazine have published her articles. She is the past editor of the newsletter Tender Touch, published for pastors’ wives on the Western District of Foursquare Churches. In addition, Foursquare Women International published her Ishshah Bible Study series for many years. These Bible studies have been updated and are currently being sold in the Eternal Foundations Bookstore. Her Family Discipleship Manuals are a series of reproducible Bible curriculum written for homeschoolers and Junior Churches and are also sold in the bookstore along with some of the courses written for ministry training.
